Where to practice

Your after-work range session. These spots are close and affordable, with short-game reps, not just ball beating.

You’re out of meetings, out of excuses, and full of swing thoughts….time to hit balls.

Whether you’ve got 25 minutes or a full hour, here’s where to get real practice in Dallas without blowing your budget or your commute.

🎯 Closest Course to You

First tip is to find your local course and hit balls there. Use the Course Map on our homepage to scout options.

⛳ Tenison Park (East Dallas)

Strengths: Big range (mats! no grass), large putting green, some chipping.

Budget-friendly and often busy, but reliable.

Best For: 30–60 minute sessions. Work on everything. chipping area gets a little packed. You’re probably gonna catch a stray ball here and there.

Notes: Buckets are affordable, and the green is one of the better public options for putting. This place has two courses, try the Glen if you’re out there just to work on things.

⛳ Cedar Crest (South Dallas)

Strengths: Grass range, real chipping/pitching area, huge putting green

Vibe: Underrated gem. Slightly gritty location, but low-key one of the best practice layouts

Best For: Full practice sessions

Notes: You might see a local swing coach or Instagram influencer. Ignore them. Stay on task.

⛳ Stevens Park (Oak Cliff)

Strengths: Close to the city. Clean putting green, short chips.

Vibe: Quick – Park, putt, peace out.

Best For: 20–30 minute short game tune-up before dinner. no long game practice here.

Notes: Tiny chipping and putting area, but great if you just need to feel the face before a weekend round. Watch a Phil video then come on over.

⛳ Thorntree (Desoto)

Strengths: Trackman Range (!), mats, short game, putting

Vibe: Former private, now public with solid facilities

Best For: Weeknight launch monitor reps

Notes: Kind of a sleeper pick. Trackman adds real value. it’s south of Dallas, which many people generally don’t venture to.

⛳ Luna Vista (Northwest Dallas)

Strengths: Grass range, multiple practice zones

Vibe: Spread out. Chill. Can feel empty in a good way.

Best For: When you have time. Not ideal for quick trips. It’s like the gym that’s grungy, but you’re proud to be there.

Notes: Not super central, but worth the drive if you’re nearby.

🌙 Late-Night Options

Golf Ranch (Richardson): Pure range, open late. A bit sterile, but you’re there to hit, not hang.

Back Nine (Plano): Simulator bar for off-course reps. Good for rainy days or swing overhauls.

🏌️‍♀️ Also Consider

Irving GC: Pretty accessible, has a clean range and chill vibe Texas

Keeton Park: Lit range, affordable, worth it if you’re east
