Northwest Dallas | Booked via: Course Website | Price paid: $57 | 20 min from Downtown Dallas
Luna is a challenge, but it’s also one of the best places in Dallas to refine your game…between the tough layout and full grass practice setup, it rewards the grinders.
📍 Location
Set just west of Love Field, Luna Vista is only about 20 minutes from Klyde Warren Park, though afternoon traffic could easily double your return trip. Still, for weekday play or quick practice, it’s hard to beat the convenience.
🏌️♂️ Layout & Course
Luna Vista doesn’t get much hype, but it should. The layout offers water, OB, doglegs, and elevation changes that keep you thinking from tee to green. It’s not pristine and it’s definitely not easy, but it’s fair. Hole 2 is a personal nemesis with trouble left, trouble right, and not much middle.
The greens are small and often raised, so scoring requires precision and a decent short game. A few holes will surprise you with their challenge and charm, especially the par 3s with elevated greens and forced carries.
🏠 Experience
Booking: Easy, online and as a single
Pace: Sub-4:30 rounds are common midweek; weekends vary
Clubhouse: Nothing fancy, but the staff is solid Carts: Basic but get the job done
Vibe: More local muni than tourist spot. This isn’t a flex round, it’s where you grind, learn, and come back better.
Practice: Luna Vista a solid practice facility in the city. Grass range (worn but functional) Chipping green with plenty of space. Large putting green that’s rarely crowded. Cheap buckets and good visibility to targets You won’t find much peace and quiet, but you can get quality reps in almost every discipline.
Final Word
If you’re nearby, need a spot to practice, or want to get 18 in without much fuss, this is a reliable go-to. It’s not going to blow you away with conditions, but it’ll challenge your game and give you the reps you need. I have fun here and think it punches above its price point.
