Allen, TX | Booked via: Website | Price Paid: $99 (Prepaid for Weekend) | 30 minutes from Downtown Dallas
Scenic beauty, challenging yet playable, and generally well-maintained. Twin Creeks is a top-tier Prime Weekend pick.
📍 Location & Access
Sunday morning, no traffic, coffee in hand…this was going to be a good one.
Booking was smooth, though I wasn’t a single this time. I prepaid $100 online, which shaved a few seconds off check-in.
⛳️ The Course
Excellent.
Excellent. A lush, peaceful oasis with water hazards on 3–4 tee shots, links-style heavy rough on others, and big bunkers guarding key landing areas. Even the seemingly wide-open fairways demand smart play. The design is thoughtful—risk/reward decisions keep you engaged from start to finish. Some elevation changes add variety without feeling punishing (unless you’re me), and several tee shots are downright picture-perfect. This is where you want to be on a Saturday or Sunday morning. A prime weekend spot.
🌱 Conditions
Good overall, with only a few muddy patches around some greens. The greens are still recovering from summer punch, but that’s true for most courses in the area. It’s worth considering when factoring in the $100 price tag, but they’re rolling well enough to enjoy the round.
🏌️♂️ Experience
The clubhouse is mid-renovation, and when it’s finished, it’ll add a polished touch to what’s already a great setup. The cart girl was making frequent rounds, and the ranger kept things moving
I teed off at 8:15 and had a great pace of play—just over four hours—with a ranger actively policing groups.
Big grass range and solid chipping/putting area make for a great warm-up spot, though it’s a little far for regular practice if you’re not local.
Fun fact: Good Good Golf (YouTube) has filmed here, which I once thought was because of its modest, approachable vibe, though that’s long gone. With $100 rounds and huge new mansions lining the fairways, Twin Creeks now feels like a polished, high-demand yet accessible destination.
Final Word:
I loved it. Twin Creeks now sits comfortably in my top three DFW public courses, alongside Grapevine and Buffalo Creek. Currently ranked #2 in all reviews.
