Rockwall, TX
Booked via: GolfNow | Price Paid: $53 (Weekday Hot Deal) | ~40 min from Downtown Dallas
Consistently ranks among the Top 5 public courses in the metroplex, and for good reason. I walked away thinking this might be one of the top three public rounds I’ve had around Dallas so far.
📍 Location
Set in a quiet, upscale neighborhood. Feels like a country club you somehow snuck into… but no one’s asking questions.
35 minutes out, 45 minutes back. That’s pushing it. Might’ve passed a rabbit on a motorcycle somewhere near Mesquite. Definitely at the edge of how far I’d drive for a casual round, but not so far that it’s off the table. 40 min hits the rating.
📐Layout & Vibe
Bunkers, water, and OB are all placed with intention. You’ll have to choose targets, shape shots, and avoid some real danger areas. The holes flow well and mix in strategic par 4s and longer risk-reward looks. It’s a course that rewards focus and punishes anything sprayed.
🏌️♂️ Practice Area
Huge grass range, oversized putting green, some chipping space. If I lived nearby, I’d be out here every week dialing in the bag.
🏠 Clubhouse & Carts
Clubhouse is minimalist, nothing fancy. Carts are a little chewed up—might’ve been tested by a Rottweiler, not sure.
⏱️ Pace + Overall
Played it in 3.5 hours when I was told to expect 4.5+. That alone gets a round of applause.
If you’re willing to make the commute and stay focused off the tee (because you will lose balls), this one’s absolutely worth it.
Right now? Neck and neck with Grapevine as my top public pick around Dallas.
