7.2 ⭐️ Mansfield National

It’s the type of course I’d happily recommend if someone lives in Mansfield, Arlington, Midlothian, or Fort Worth. I just wouldn’t tell someone in Frisco or Plano to drive an hour specifically to play it.

Some golf courses try to impress you with waterfalls and million-dollar clubhouses. Mansfield National greets you with power lines and says, “Let’s just play golf.”

The surprise? It’s a great layout from the start, good value and really fun day.

The conditioning is better than you’d expect, the greens have enough speed to keep you honest, and the layout has just enough variety that you’re never sleepwalking through the round.

The par 3’s are a bit of a head-scratcher, why do they have me pulling out a three wood (maybe just a me problem)?

It’s a neighborhood golf course in the best way, no pretension, just people who showed up to play. Judging by the parking lot though, plenty of them also drove nicer cars than I did.

If life nearby or you’re a value person looking for a course that’s consistently in good shape, fairly priced, and more enjoyable than the price suggests, Mansfield National quietly overdelivers.
