Seventeen minutes from Downtown Dallas, you pull into a massive parking lot and immediately realize this isn’t your typical golf course.

By accident, you walk into the main clubhouse first. A receptionist greets you, servers are setting tables in a beautiful restaurant overlooking the property, and you’re politely directed over to the golf shop. Inside, it’s exactly what you’d expect from a country club..walls of apparel, attentive staff, and a seamless check-in.

Then comes the practice facility.

Buckets of Callaway Chrome Soft balls are already waiting. Alignment rods are available. Multiple targets stretch across an immaculate range that feels more like a PGA Tour setup than a warm-up area.

The short-game area isn’t enormous, but it’s beautifully maintained, and the putting green rolls exactly like the course.

Grab your cart and head to the first tee.

Before tee off, I had to make a call, join the group I was paired up with and play the tips….or find a new group. I found white tees.

The opening hole unfolds with a wide fairway and expansive views, setting the tone for the day. The conditioning is exceptional: lush fairways, crisp bunkers, and greens that look as if they’ve just been mowed.

The 19th hole is part of the culture. Sit outside with a drink, watch groups finish, and soak in the atmosphere before heading home. This does lean a little older and stuffy though, but solid food.

Final Thoughts

The biggest difference between public and private golf isn’t necessarily the layout.

It’s that every inconvenience has already been removed.

You don’t think about range balls, crowded parking, course conditions, or whether the bathrooms will be clean. You simply show up, play, and enjoy the day.

Las Colinas isn’t just a golf course, it’s an escape, just 17 minutes from downtown.
