The Club at Frisco Farms (aka Plantation) is the golf equivalent of driving through a Frisco subdivision and realizing someone squeezed 18 holes between the houses. The course is tight, playable, and occasionally fun, but it never quite escapes the feeling that you’re golfing in the middle of a neighborhood rather than at a destination worth seeking out.
🚗 Commute
Unless you live nearby, this is where Plantation starts to lose points. North Frisco residents may appreciate having a course close to home, but for golfers coming from Dallas, Las Colinas, or Arlington, there are simply too many better options competing for your time.
🌱 Conditions
Conditions were acceptable but unremarkable. Nothing stood out in either direction except some mostly dirt greens. The course is maintained well enough to enjoy a round, but there’s little that would make you stop and say, “I need to come back here.”
🎯 Layout & Challenge
The defining characteristic of Plantation is tightness. Fairways are narrow, homes are close, and driver can quickly become more liability than asset. Bring a hybrid, a fairway wood, and a willingness to play position golf.
For players working on accuracy, this can actually be a useful test. If your typical round involves spraying drives into neighboring backyards, Plantation will encourage a more disciplined approach. The downside is that many holes feel similar, with houses serving as the primary hazard.

The practice facilities are underwhelming relative to many other options in the area. If you’re looking for a place to spend an afternoon working on your game, there are stronger choices throughout DFW.
